NYC Teacher Video Game

This link was forwarded to me this week:

It's an Angry Birds-style video game about New York City teachers trying to prevent school closures.  After playing only a couple of levels, it struck me that further analysis of this metaphor might be appropriate and that it could be very broadly interpreted.

Some folks are certain to react angrily to such a game, saying it is offensive that a profession as difficult and nuanced as teaching be summed up by three characters throwing classroom supplies at stars.

Others might say it's good publicity for people to be fighting as teachers to help solve problems in the school system, citing a boost in empathy as their proof.

And this list of reactions could go on and on.

Personally, I'd rather just play Angry Birds, as it's easier to hurl weapons at my targets.
